Software Utilities
NEVinfo v1.0 - This utility allows users to view header information and comment fields in NEV data files by simply double clicking the file within Microsoft Windows environments. The utility also installs icons for NEV data files. (Windows 95/98/NT/2k)
NeuroExplorer® (Trial Version) - Cyberkinetics is a supplier of NeuroExplorer® (NEX) offline analysis software. Some of the offline analysis benefits of NEX include:
- Import of native data files created by many popular data acquisition systems
- All standard histogram and raster analyses
- Shift predictors in crosscorrelograms and color markers in perievent rasters
- Joint PSTH, burst analysis and many more analysis options and functions
- Analysis of continuous channels (spike-triggered histograms and rasters, pectral densities and other analyses)
- 3D data view and animation
- Fully customizable WYSIWYG graphics
- Batch mode processing with internal scripting language
- Direct data link to Matlab and Excel

Data Files
NEV Test File (Right click and select "Save Linked File As... or equivalent to download) - This is a test Neural Spike file from the Cerebus Data Acquisition System. This file contains ONLY action potentials. For additional continuous wave for test files, please contact our Customer Support department.
Cerebus™ Spike Sorting Utilities
Spike Automatic Classifier Version 2 (SAC) - Unsupervised spike sortingsoftware for multiple NEV files in Matlab. The software is provided for full, free and open release with appropriate acknowledgements.
NEV Offline Spike Sorting Tool - it definitions are created using time-amplitude windows on the spike waveform. User supervision is required to determine satisfactory unit templates to apply to the entire data set. Original NEV data files are over-written with the newly defined spike unit codes. This program is intended as a framework for providing several sorting algorithms to be implemented in the future. (Windows 95/98/NT/2k)
Neuroshare Utilities and Matlab Importer
Neuroshare - The NeuroShare website is a collaborative, vendor-neutral area dedicated to public domain standards and software for neurophysiology. This website is part of an SBIR program funded by the National Institute for Neural Disorders and Stroke. Matlab Importer and offline spike sorting software can be downloaded at: http://neuroshare.sourceforge.net/download.shtml
PowerNAP - PowerNAP 0.7.1 - is a utility for data cleanup of Neural data. This version offers a most functional spike detector, using a simple threshold crossing detection mechanism. View continuous data, playback, analysis screens, and spike sorting. (Manual and Automatic sorting options.) Developed as part of the Neuroshare Project.
NEVLibrary - Neuroshare support NEVLibrary DLL. Adds additional file import support for NEX, Spike 2, and Matlab.
Matlab Importer - Neuroshare offline analysis utility for importing data files into Matlab.
