Cyberkinetics Neurotechnology Systems manufactures a range of scientific equipment to record from the central and peripheral nervous system in both chronic and acute applications.
Microelectrode Arrays
The core of the technology is the microelectrode array that can penetrate neural tissue to a depth of 1.0 and 1.5 mm. The standard array configuration is 10x10 with 100 microelectrodes. However we can supply any subset of the 10x10 configuration; for example, 5x5, 2x8. The microelectrode array can be wired either to an acute or a chronic connector to form an array assembly.
A special, pneumatically actuated impulse inserter is used to place the array in the neural tissue at high speed. The Cyberkinetics inserter minimizes the possibility that the tissue endures any damage.

Cerebus™ Data Acquisition System
We also manufacture and market the 128 Channel Cerebus™ data acquisition system. The Cerebus™ System allows researchers to identify, classify, and analyze neural signals in both on-line and off-line applications.
Our equipment and techniques have been developed with feedback from practicing neuroscientists. The multielectrode array technology has been validated in several species, and has provided scientists with a method of obtaining reliable chronic neural recording.
